WHO WE ARE

Forest Hills Parents United is a grassroots, 501(C)4 non-profit organization seeking transparency, partnership, and academic excellence in our local public schools. Our goal is to connect and inform district parents about current policy, administration, and educational practices.

Our organization’s philosophy is to bring all parents together in our common desire for our children to be educated objectively and without bias as skilled, lifelong learners who achieve their full potential.

We desire to connect with and inform district parents and to partner with staff and administration to find solutions and opportunities that will serve each child — and our entire community — well.

Along with the U.S. Department of Education,

We affirm that when families, communities and schools work together, students are more successful and the entire community benefits.

Along with the National Education Association (NEA),

We agree that parents, grandparents, caregivers, friends, neighborhood advocates: we all have a role to play in supporting student learning in the classroom and beyond.

Along with the State of Michigan,

We acknowledge that It is the natural and fundamental right of parents and legal guardians to determine and to direct the care, teaching, and education of their children.

In agreement with the Forest Hills Public Schools Guiding Principles,

We will work together with the community to engage as full partners.
